Diwali fireworks on Friday, November 5th were spectacular, and the event was a huge success. As per the Police, we had over 1000 people gathered to enjoy the event. Quite a few non-Indian families came out to participate from the larger community which makes us very happy. Everyone from the Livingston government, including the Mayor, Members of Council, Police Department, Fire Department, and the Department of Public Works were involved in approving and planning the details and always kept safety in mind. We thank all of them and their support. Thanks also to the First Aid Squad for being available in case of an emergency. We are grateful to St. Philomena for allowing the attendees to park their cars in their parking lot. Our longtime supporter, Harleen Kaur Manko of New York Life Insurance partially sponsored the event. We also thank the following members of our community for their generosity which helped defray about 50% of the total cost of the fireworks.
